Fun day in Atlanta!

We are back from our long exhausting day in Atlanta but we sure had a fun time. We had to get up at 4:30 yesterday morning in order to make it to Dallas to catch our 8:30am flight. We had few close calls at the airport but finally made it on our plane. Once we landed we went straight to the hotel where the videoing was being held. Just to explain-the purpose of the videoing is for a compilation that CBF will put togther for the General Assembly in June the night we are to be commissioned. We sat in front of a camera and Terri Walton with CBF asked us a series of questions in a dialogue format that will then be edited into short clips. We were both very nervous about this and we are glad it is over. Lizzie Fortenberry also spent this day with us as she will be commissioned with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship as well.

After the videoing the three us went walking and touring downtown Atlanta. It was our first time there. Lizzie had been many time before as she grew up close to there. We really enjoyed the city and the parks and all there was to see. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful city! While we were walking we were also waiting for some of our friends to come and pick us up for dinner. Our friends were other CBF global service corps personnel who will also be commissioned in June. They did their videoing in the morning. We recently met Eric and Taisha at the exploratory conference in February and have quickly become friends. Eric and Taisha both live in Atlanta and will graduate in 2 weeks from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University. After being commissioned Eric will be appointed to a position in Washington D.C. and Taisha a position in Brooklyn, NY.

Dinner was a blast! We had good food and good company. It was nice catching up on everyone's lives since last meeting. Laura Barton in the 6th GSCer and could not make it because she is currently living in China. We missed her and wished she was with us.

Well, the evening had to come to an end. Eric and Taisha took us to the airport to catch our flight. We landed back in Texas at 8:30 and made it home about 11pm. This was a very long day but such a good day. It is good to be home.
