Friday we spent the day in and around the city. We took the bus to a few places trying to get our bearings and then hopped on the underground for a little adventure. Most of the time we are riding the same bus line to and from the school or riding with other people. We were glad we could get off on our own and see where it took us. Here are some random pics of the city as we were walking. Of course it doesn't really represent the liveliness and size, but it will give you an idea.
Saturday we spent the day with Andy, his wife Clau and here brother Silvu. Andy and Clau have been looking for furniture so we were able to tag along and look for a few things for us; main goal being a couch. After visiting several places and finding some needed items we finally purchased a couch! It is on order and will be here in 3 weeks. It makes into a bed so for those coming to visit, take a look at your new bed:

Saturday night was fun. We met an American guy named Jack from Chicago and he invited us over to their house (wife named Laura and 2 sons) for pizza. They live pretty close to us, about a 20 minute walk. We were able to visit and share experiences about Bucharest and talked about new found foods and interests. They just arrived about 2 weeks ago and will be working with Christian Camping International. We look forward to getting to know them better and to have some Americans friends to adjust with and share lives and stories with.
Sunday was another good day at Church. We still cannot understand what the sermons are about or the words to songs but I (Susan) am starting to recognize more and more words and that to me is an accomplishment. We met afterwords with Alina who will hopefully be our language tutor. She seems very eager and willing. She teaches Romanian to Americans so this isn't anything new for her. We arranged a time this week when we could meet. And Mama, she said she could teach me to cook Romanian dishes as a apart of language exercises!!!
After Church we went to lunch with Oti, his wife Cami, son David and a few other guests. We enjoyed good Romanian food and then went home for an even better nap. I guess the events of the weekend finally caught up with us.
