Winter in Romania

As you can imagine, life slows down a lot in the winter here. This is true for the Romanians and for us as well. Temperatures drop, people stay inside and there isn't much activity beyond the usual day-to day routine. We have been thankful for this because it gives us time to tend to the things we otherwise wouldn't make time for. Then there are times when we go stir crazy with nothing to do. You have to make your own fun, but of course it is restricted to indoors because who wants to be outside with cold temps and snow on the ground?

Even though we are halfway through February and can see remnants of snow/ice on the ground, the sun is out and is trying to shine. The weather is absolutely beautiful with temperatures reaching 50 degrees! What a relief after the months of 20's and 30's?! I don't want to speak too soon because any day it could drop again, but I am going to enjoy it while I can.

For those faithful readers (thank you), you might be wondering where we are and what has been happening. But I am here to say we are still here, but with again little news to report. We have been in the office gearing up for what looks to be a busy spring and summer. There are many groups planned and lots of activities for the Ruth School kids. So we will be sure to make up for this blogger-lull with lots of things to share in the coming months. We may not be busy now, but I assure that will change!

So during the quietness, we thank you for keeping up with us. This has been a restful and productive time, in ways that we just can't blog about.
