Periodically Wes will make trips to different parts of Romania to visit Gypsy Smith School students. He makes these trips with Alex (Romanian GSS Coordinator) staying with students, visiting with prospective students and attending church with them. This past weekend Wes and Alex made their usual trip but this time they brought along Manuella (Alex's wife) and me (Susan). The four of us had a wonderful time taking the train and visiting with 1 recently graduated student (Fery), 1 current student (Viorel) and a couple of prospective students.
On Saturday, March 8th, Romania celebrated Women's Day where all the women receive gifts and flowers. This was fun for us because we were able to give some women gifts but also receive gifts in return. They were all so very thoughtful. The families were also very welcoming and hospitable. It was so nice and calm in the country-side we almost didn't want to return to Bucharest. They invited us back in the summer and I am definitely looking forward to that trip. We will keep you posted, but for now enjoy some pictures from the weekend.
