One of the best feelings is when someone you know and care about comes to visit. We all can experience this anywhere we are. For us, it seems like a larger gesture because the person has to take more time, effort and money to come and visit. When someone comes to visit us or Project Ruth (or both) it fills our heart with warmth and love. Even when life here has become "home" for us, the time with visitors from the States reminds us of a home we left behind.
This past month we were filled with these feelings from several visitors. On October 1, Ellen Sechrest from Boulevard Baptist Church (SC) came for nearly 2 weeks with friends and members of her church. While they came to visit Project Ruth, we were looking forward to reconnecting with many who had been before. During their stay we participated in many acitivities together with the Ruth School and the church. There were also moments we could fellowship and spend meaningful moments together. Over our 2 years here, Ellen and her church has come to hold a special place in our heart. We were sad to see them leave.

Immediatly following Boulevard's visit, we were visited by 2 of our colleagues from CBF. Rick and Judy Landon (KY) are apart of the Member Care system at CBF which is a group of volunteer professionals who dedicate their time and energy to the well-being of CBF field personnel. Their role is to help us remain healthy spiritually, mentally and physically. Their visit was short but so important. After being connected to the Gypsy team and Project Ruth contacts for many years, this was their first trip to Romania. We balanced our time with visiting Project Ruth, sighteeing and sharing with them our world here in Bucharest.

The month has been busy (which is why the lack of posts). But the month has also been refreshing and rejuvinating as we were able to connect with so many wonderful friends and supporters.
