We're Back!!!

It has been a long time since our last post. We have been quite busy. We spent the last 3 weeks in Birmingham, Alabama doing our training/orientation with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. We had a productive 3 weeks with various speakers talking to us about such topics as the Missional Church, Justice and Peacemaking, Emotional Health on the Field, Cultural Anthropology, Contemporary Missiology, and field operations.

There were 6 of us who attended this training. It was the 6 new GSC field personnel who are about to enter the field in the next few weeks. We really enjoyed our time together as this might be the last time we see all of us together in a group. We had a blast and we love each of them deeply.

During our three weeks we stayed at The Residence Inn, Marriott and really enjoyed our stay there. It was nice to have our own room with a kitchen. Most of our training was held at Samford University.

I also had the priveledge of visiting with Shawn Shannon who was my former BSM director from UMHB. She is getting her DMIN at Beeson School of Divinity at Samford. She just so happened to be there for 2 weeks while we were there. We spent a wonderful Saturday afternoon hikiing at Oak Mountain State Park

We left Birmingham on Sunday July 23 and flew to Colorado Springs, Colorado. We are here for 2 weeks attending Langauge Acquisition School at Mission Training International. There are 40 people here from various organizations, we are the only ones from CBF. We have a full 2 weeks planned here and once we arrive home we will post all about it!
