Vienna Christmas Market

Last Friday after Thanksgiving, Ralph, Tammy, Penny, Wes and I hopped in the Stocks' car and drove to Vienna, Austria for the day. This day was the kick-off for their annual Christmas Market. Vienna has an outdoor Christmas market that has been held every year since sometime in the 1700's. The weather was nice and cold, not to cold but Wes did enjoy a nice hot cup of the famous mulled hot wine to keep him warm.
After a walk around the market and soaking in the ambiance, we headed for the tourist walking street and eventually Starbucks. I must admit this is something we were really looking forward, as it is the closest Starbucks to us. Penny and I had been counting down the days. And all three of us, Wes, Penny and myself debated for hours over what drink we were going to order. Sounds silly, but if I am only coming to Starbucks once I want to make it worth it!

Here are some pics of the walking street:

After spending time at the Christmas market and the walking street we made a stop by a supermarket so Tammy could pick up some groceries they don't get in Budapest. Incidentally, we don't get in Bucharest as well so we enjoyed checking out everything they had. I even went home with some Special K cereal with red berries. It is amazing what you forget you missed. We had such a wonderful day. I am glad we had this experience to go to Vienna. This will be a Thanksgiving I will never forget!
