It doesn't get more American than this here in Bucharest. As many of you know, recently Starbucks opened its first store in Bucharest with a second soon to follow. Also, as many of you know, we LOVE Starbucks! We are quite devoted customers as Wes was even an employee there once. So as you can imagine we were thrilled to hear about this. Until now, Vienna was the closest place to get that wonderful coffee we crave (No, this isn't a commercial for Starbucks, we just really like to company).
Yesterday (Saturday), we decided to make a day of it and go visit the new Starbucks. The location isn't that close to us and it took nearly an hour to get there. Soon the second one will be open and that one is right across the street! So anyway, since it took long to get there we decided to spend our day in that area. We started with going to a movie, then made out way to dinner and then finished the day with an enjoyable evening at Starbucks. We were able to do all this in one place, Plaza Romania. Plaza Romania is one of Bucharest's largest malls located on the westside of town (we are in the south). They have a large movie theater, a huge selecton of restuarants and now Bucharest's first Starbucks.
We had a great day and for a moment I felt like I was in the United States, enjoying a date - American Style.

I am so envious!! Rumor has it that Budapest is getting one too. Like yours it will probably be way on the other side of town.
