It was 10am on June 7th at ICSB (International Christian School of Budapest). The occasion was to celebrate Josh Stocks’ high school graduation. In attendance were a lot of proud parents, family members and friends. Specifically to see Josh was ourselves (Wes and Susan), his parents and sister (Ralph, Tammy and Amy) and a few other CBF colleagues (The McNarys, Glen Adkins and summer volunteer, Megan).
As Josh said his final farewell to High School, we said our final farewell to time with the Stocks in Budapest. The Stocks will be leaving for the States late this summer and will not return until after we leave Romania. We needed to find one last time to make a trip to Hungary before both our summers got busy. There couldn’t have been a more perfect weekend than coming to see Josh graduate.
Our time with them was meaningful and relaxing. I don’t think theirs was as relaxing since they were heavily involved in graduation stuff ALL week. It ended well with a backyard cookout with CBF colleagues, ICSB friends and graduates and their families. The weather was beautiful and it felt like we had stepped back into a typical U.S. cookout. It was really fun.
When it was all over we went our separate ways. This isn’t goodbye to the Stocks as we will continue to stay in contact through phone and email. But more important we will have one last chance to reunite next summer at the 2009 General Assembly. We will attend just after coming off the field and they will attend right before they return to life in Hungary.
Thank you Ralph, Tammy, Amy and Josh for letting us come and be apart of this special day. Also thank you for allowing us to be apart of your lives and more than just colleagues. Many blessings on your future ahead!
