Greetings from Bucharest!

We have been in the city now for 12 days and are loving it! At first, the city was overwhelming because of its size, and the crowded complex streets. Right now the city feels like a maze, but we're slowly getting our bearings. You can definitely see the history of communism and the city's attempt to grow economically.

During our first week, we were very dependent due to the language barrier and because of our inability to move about the city. Yet, we are so blessed to be working with our brothers and sisters here at Project Ruth and at Providence Baptist Church. Andy, Alex, and Mona have bent over backwards to help us get situated and to help us get acquainted with how things work here.

By the end of the week, we found an apartment, signed the contract, and offically moved in this past Monday. Over the course of this week, we've cleaned, unpacked, and purchased supplies and necessities all while visiting and interacting with gypsy children in Bible Clubs and a gyspy church with a team from North Carolina (more on this in another post). This past weekend, we even had the opportunity to get out of the city and see the countryside and to visit Brasov and Bran Castle in Bran. We are still waiting on a couch and a washing machine and we have yet had time to buy groceries. Hopefully by the end of next week we'll have telephone and internet in our home.

All things considered, we've actually accomplished a lot since we've been here. We are gratefully for all your emails, prayers, and encouragement. We have not doubt that this is where God has called us and having confidence in this brings us great joy despite the difficulties we will face!
