On Saturday October 28, Project Ruth celebrated the dedication and official opening of the new Ruth School building and the James and Juandelle Lacy Vocational Training Center. There were guests from nine different countries who brought greetings. The keynote speaker was Daniel Vestal, national coordinator for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Following the activities for Project Ruth there was another special event to be celebrated. Providence Baptist Church celebrated their 80th birthday. This was an exciting time as Daniel Vestal preached, the mandolin orchestra performed, and Dr. Ioan Bunaciu, Oti's father, shared some of the church's historical events. During the ceremony there was a slide show showing pictures over the last 50 or so years. It was so neat to see how the church had changed and developed, but it was especially neat to watch the church members enjoy pictures that represented their history and journey.
