R & R in Sighisoara

Due to an extended weekend, we decided to take advantage of the extra days and take a trip via train to Sighisoara for a little R & R. Sighisoara was first settled by the Romans and later turned into a booming trade center by the Saxons. It is located north of Bucharest in Transylvania. It's also popular because it is the birthplace of Vlad Tepes, the historical figure Bram Stoker based his fictional character Dracula. Being there is like going back in time since it retains such a medieval feel. It's not that big and the main sites to see are in the city center where we stayed. The first full day was nice, but little did we know what the next morning had in store for us. Snow!!! We woke up the next day astonished at what we saw. It snowed the entire day leaving at least a foot of snow by the time we left. We had a wonderful and relaxing 3 days to see more of the beauty of Romania.
