December 1st for Romanians is a national holiday called Unification Day. While there are celebrations everywhere, the largest one took place at Piata Unirii (largest square in Bucharest) with fireworks and the lighting of the largest Christmas Tree in Europe. We braved the crowds and went to Unirii to join the festivities. It was pretty spectacular!
