Anca's Birthday Party

Friday night we celebrated Anca's 26th birthday. We had a wonderful time hanging out with her and some of her closest friends. All of her friends spoke excellent English but periodically throughout the evening they insisted we speak Romanian. Even though it can be a challenge, we were thankful they were interested in how our Romanian was instead just trying to practice English. Over the course of 7 hours we enjoyed a delicious meal provided by Anca, 2 desserts and some really fun games.

The best part of the evening was playing the game "I Never." This is a great way to practice a foreign language. In case you haven't played, I will explain. Someone has to say something they have never done. If you have done that something, then you switch as fast as you can with someone who has also done this thing. Last person without a seat has to say an "I Never." It was really challenging and really helpful to practice and understand Romania. There were times we didn't understand and just sat there, but everyone was pretty helpful and understanding about it. It was so much fun!
