Road Improvement

For 88 years, Providence Baptist Church in the Ferenteri neighborhood of Bucharest has been accustomed to the dirt and unpaved roads that surrounded their building. But just 18 months after joining the European Union and a few months before mayoral elections that has all changed in this community.

Recently, efforts have been made to improve the road conditions in Romania, now specifically in Ferenteri. It has been a hassle the last few weeks walking around cranes, bulldozers and piles of materials; but we know it will all be worth it. For us this means no more walking through mud when it rains. But hopefully the people in this area will be excited for the improvements being made. Kids have already enjoyed being able to rollerblade and have water fights with the area water faucet. Before, these things were unimaginable. It is really fun walking down the street and watching the neighborhood people enjoy their new roads.
